Jonathan J. Song, Esq.

Attorney Jonathan J. Song was born in China and immigrated with his parents to the United States when he was 9 years old. Jonathan received his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law where he graduated with honors.

Jonathan is admitted to practice law in the following courts:

  • North Carolina State Court
  • United States Federal District Court – Western District of North Carolina
  • Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Court

Caleb Decker, Esq.

Jonathan received his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law where he graduated with honors.

Caleb is an independent contractor of Song Law and handles mostly criminal cases due to his experience as a former prosecutor for the 43rd Judicial District.  Caleb has been admitted to practice law in North Carolina since 2003.  Caleb is a native of Haywood County.  He obtained his college degree from Western Carolina University in 2000 and his juris doctorate from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, University of Louisville in 2003.  When Caleb is not in court, Mr. Decker enjoys fishing, golfing, and spending time with his three children. In addition to being admitted to practice law in state court, Caleb is also admitted to practice law in the Western District of North Carolina, federal court and with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Tribal Court.

Krista M. Pace, N.C. Board Certified Paralegal

Krista is our N.C. Board Certified Paralegal who graduated with the highest honors. She was born and raised in Haywood County where she resides with her husband. Krista has been with our law firm since 2016 serving not only as our paralegal but also as the office manager.  Krista is well versed with working on family law cases.  In addition, Krista also specializes in working with special proceedings cases, including but not limited to adoptions, legitimations and name changes.

Christy is a native of North Carolina. Prior to her employment with Song Law, Christy worked as an deputy/assistant clerk of superior court for 28 years.  While working for the Haywood County Clerk’s Office, Christy handled mainly criminal cases.  Therefore, Christy works primarily with our clients criminally charged by the State of North Carolina. Christy enjoys gardening, golfing, and spending time with her family, including many grandchildren when she is not in the office.

Ashley Hughes, Legal Assistant

Jonathan received his B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law where he graduated with honors.

Ashley grew up in Canton, North Carolina and is married to Logan Hughes. Ashley graduated from Southwestern Community College in 2020 with honors and obtained her AAS degree in Health Information Technology in 2021.  Prior to her employment at Song Law, Ashley worked for the Haywood County Department of Social Services as an eligibility specialist and income maintenance caseworker.  Ashley works mainly with complex and high stake divorce cases involving issues of equitable distribution and spousal support.  During her down time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well as floating down the Pigeon River and spending time on the lake or at the beach.

Wendy grew up in Buncombe County, North Carolina.  Wendy recently graduated from Western Carolina University majoring in criminal justice.  Wendy began as a summer intern at Song Law due to her desire to attend law school.  However, due to her worth ethic and dedication, Wendy is now a part-time legal assistant at Song Law working on a variety of cases.
